Davis Chev revs up food drive campaign

The Fill A Truck, Drive Away Hunger campaign is a two-pronged food drive, said Coach and league President Joey Calvitti. On Dec. 20 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., one group of ARHL players and Davis Chevrolet volunteers will go door-to-door in team jerseys to collect non-perishable food items while another group camps out in Ralph McCall School to accept drop-off donations.

Jean Vanier hockey teams raise $900 to help community members fight cancer

Playing hockey to help fight cancer.That’s the core of the “Play Hockey Fight Cancer” game held Dec. 16 by Jean Vanier Catholic High School students as the boys and girls hockey teams played against the visiting Holy Trinity Tigers of Bradford.

Hockey gear donated  
Some children from the Beausoleil First Nation community will get a chance to suit up and play in a hockey tournament, thanks to the efforts of a kind hockey dad and a generous community.
Equipment sent to Inuit kids  
When Michelle Valberg came up with an idea to send some used hockey equipment up north, she had no idea how it would blossom, how much of an impact it could have and how many smiles it could produce.
Hockey coach teaches spirit of giving back  
As in the tale of the Three Kings who came bearing gifts from afar more than 2,000 years ago, a team of local Royals is also bringing gifts this Christmas season to those living in poverty.
