Good things come in Fours 2018-01-28

The Sunday January 28th version of Gator Hockey saw a brunch time… no wait, that’s morning.  Late Brunch? Linner?  Lupper? Screw it, it was a 2:30 afternoon tilt versus Stealth Hockey

No beer tickets were on the line this time.  God (not to be confused with Morello, who is Ice Jesus) called and said “C’mon fellas, its Sunday, put it to rest”.  See what I did there?

For all you heathens, when God created heaven and earth on the seventh day he rested.  Jokes are always more funny when they have to be explained.

We scored 4 goals! That is good.  Good things come in fours

They scored 2 goals! That is bad

But, because we scored more goals we won the hockey game, neat eh!

The game was basically won at the 12:39 mark of the first period by a shorthanded tally from Filewich.  First period ended with the Gators up 3-0 on goals from Nebs, Overton and Filewich.  Fun fact: We had the same amount of goals that Stealth had in shots.

Second period saw a more even distribution of play, shots were 11-10 Stealth and the lone period goal went to Miller from the Stealth

Third saw the same first period tilted ice with 17 Gator shots fired to the Stealth’s 7.  Brock wired the fourth Gator goal in and Stealth replied back with one of their own.

Game ended 4-2

Brady drove home with #GatorOfTheGame

Clay got the W

Other Gator News:

Spenny had a career high -2.  That’s even factoring in some Gator shutouts that he’s played in

Nebs is a PP specialist (5 PPG so far on the season)

You can’t spell Hockey without a Y.  Without a Y it’s HOCKE which is a German word for squat

Awesome Movies that had four in their series:  Terminator, Bourne, Rambo, Lethal Weapon, Shrek
