To say that losing streak could f-off already would be an understatement.
Lowrey's wife has university event things going on, and Clay was doing some track coaching so Overton strapped on the pillows for a rare game between the pipes for the struggling Gators.
He may have been a bit rusty, but he was the spark the fellas needed. That Overton, Ironman of the Gators. What can I tell ya.
First period saw the Green&Gold chomp away with 4 goals courtesay of Tremblay, Filewich and a pair from McRae... who must have gotten a new perscription cause he rarely ever actually hits the net. Guest Gator Dunville gave out a couple apples and the period ended 4-2
The second period saw what happenned and in the intermission said to the scorekeeper "Hold my beer". The Gators and Rebels combined for 23 shots an 8 more goals. Gators accounted for 8 of those with Scrads leading the charge getting his second, Adam and Mitch getting in on the fun, and Perry (Morello 2.0) getting a pair and completing his hat-trick. Rebels managed 3 of their own and the period ended 9-5.
The third period, after cowering in the corner, afraid to come out was finally coaxed with a concession hot dog and the period started. Shots toned down by a couple, and the Gators who were pretty much spend after the second lits their smokes and leaned back to absorb the rest of the game. Rebels sniped a couple more but that was as close as they'd get.
Final Score 9-7 Gators
Overton gets the W with a 24 save performance
Nebs gets the game winner
All is well
