Trade ya a chocolate bar for some Ketchup Chips 2019-10-31

After being inundated... pause... big word alert

Inundated: verb, past tense.  Meaning to overwhelm (someone) with things or people to be dealt with

Big word defined, check, continue on...

After being inundated with nutsack quizes like "what's your favorite chocolate bar?" or "rockets vs candy corn", or "how many kids do you expect tonight" I felt quite refreshed that there is someone out there thats playing chess while the rest of us are playing checkers.  An unnamed Gator in the midst of all of us sharing cute trick or treater stories before the game shared a true gem.

Two kids come up, one outright asks (politely) if he had any ketchup chips cause dude was giving out chip vs candy (i think).  Anyways, turns out our gator did have ketchup chip squirreled away somewhere and gave the kids some chips.  older brother sheepishly asks for ketchup chips as well, and comments "i dont like chips but I know he'll trade me a chocolate bar for it"...

That kid's playing chess while we're all playing checkers.

Now that we've covered the Gator news title, lets proceed

I'd like to think the game was really 3 distinct chunks, more than just the game having 3 periods by definition.

Here's how I figgur...

First period was a little fishing, casting some shots on net, with nothing other than 1 bingo from each team caught.

Both team floated down the crick a bit and found a different spot in the second.  The B's struck first then had a little parade to the sin bin for a little 5on3.  We'd rather score 5on5 so New Kev lit the lamp after those shenanigans were over.  Then Newfie Rob cranked up the throttle for a guest appearance shorthanded bingo (via a nacho ruining pim from Cochrane) to give us our first lead of the game.  The B's clawed that one back about a minute and a half later, and before the period ended Cochrane paid back that pim by striking on the PP to get the Gator lead back

Third period continued the "wide open - its past midnight - IDGAF" style that is a trademark of the Green&Gold.

That kinda backfired for around a 2 min interval where the B's tied the game, took a penalty, and bingo'd shorthanded.

Some time passes, the B's took another penalty, then we did, and Newfie Rob struck again for a shorty.  Who does he think he is, Buckley??

B's got back the lead, only to have New Kev tie it back up a matter of seconds later.  Then next shift stike again for his hatty and the Gator lead.

Newfie Rob then went for a skate, collecting some B's slashes on the way to a stoppage in play after he felt the odd need to defend himself... meh.  That didnt work so great as the B's struck for the game tying goal on the PP.  Faccckin 28sec left.

Off to the shooutout we go!

Lowrey stopped the B's first shooter

Newfie Rob lost the handle after the B's tendy poked at puck but caught skate blade

B's second shooter went five hole and finished with a snowjob... charming

Taylor bingo'd to keept the shootout going.

Lowrey stopped the B's third shooter and....

Tasty Teske closed out the game

Lowrey stops 40 shots in the game and 2 in the shootout for the W

Gator streak now 9-0
