The Nov 10th edition of Gator Hockey saw us face off against the Ice Bears.  Never played them before, so no scouting report... sue me.  It also was the return of a certain veteran Gator named Brock Fetting.  How'd the game go?  I'm glad you asked...

We met our match in with the shoot-first Ice Bears.  For the first time in a long time we got outshot in a period.  4 min in the bears tallied first, with the gators levelling things out a few ticks later from the stick of Eric McRae.  I know right? Eric not only hit the net, but put the puck inside of the boundary that the posts and crossbar supply.  Buy a lottery ticket, its a rarity.  Bear ruined their free nachos with a slash call, and Filewich sinned at the 13min mark to ruin our free plate as well.  Period ended 1-1 with the Ice Bears taking a 13 - 11 shot lead

Second period saw the Gators take the lead off a PP marker from NewKev, and a lead extension from good ole Jordo who just got back from vacation.  "Abdelkader gonna Abdelkade" is totally not what he said at the bench... although he should have.  The Ice Bears scratched back a late period goal to finish the second with a 3-2 Gator Lead.  Cumulative shots were 27-25 for the Gators.

Third period saw the game get a little more intense.  Tons more shots, and a game tying goal from the Bearr halfway through the period.  They must have forgot there was more game to play as McRae struck for his second, and the inevitable game winner all of 30sec later.  Mess with a Gator, you're gonna get chomped.  Hayes was clutch down the stretch and the green&gold skate to a 4-3 win.
