The January 23rd version of Gator Hockey saw us square up against the Ice Ninjas.  Last year we went 1-2 against them.  So we were figuratively hungry for a win.  This game started at 11:30 in the PM, and most of the locker room convo was about late night snacks.  You safely assume we were literally hungry as well.  

That being said, pray for Eric, he likes the late night snacks, and theres a Dominos going in across the street from him.  This relationship may go next tier and about 15-20lbs deep

So getting to the game,

Srads opened the scoring early on via a primary from New Kev.  A couple minutes later the Buds line lit lamp via a bingo from Overton from a nice primary from Cochrane.  The Ninjas closed it to one on a backdoor cross crease pass that found the net after a couple rebounds.  Period ended 2-1 with the Gators also leads in shots 15-11.

 Ninjas tied the game early into the second on a real nice tip from the hashies.  Trust me on this one... I’m the guy seeing the shots.  We regrouped though.  New Kev got the Gators back in front via Cochrane and Hutchy, then Overton unloaded a bomb that literally & unintentionally removed the Ninjas goalie mask.  Those things do rattle your cage, and resulted in a follow up bingo from Overton from a Wideman feed, and New Kev’s second of the period with Spenny and Jared shining the apples.

Third period was basically a bunch of shots, some complaining about calls, a quick whistle, and a minor disagreement about what the best taquito flavor at 7-11 is.  Thats what the trio of roughing penalties was all about 3min in right?

Game ended 5-2
