Game 4 of the season saw the Gators go greek and take on the Mighty Trojans in a prime 8:45pm start time
11 skaters in the dressing room, check. #GatorOfTheGame in tow? check. Kais on beers cause he forgot beers last game? check. Replacement blade for Noahs skate? not a check.... Uhhh, make that 10 skaters
And off we go!
First period rolled out and both teams guns were blazing. The trojans flung 14 shots at the Gator net, The gators chomped away at 15 of their own. Cunningham drew first blood at the 2 min mark via a Thomson primary and Overton secondary. Mid period territory saw Resler snipe his first of the season from the point off Hutch and Hanna apples. Period ended 2-0 Gators. No PIM's as well. Hmmm
Second period saw Scradley score halfway through, extending the lead to 3-0. Shortly after saw a Gator PP that fired tons, just none inside the net. Man did the glass behind the net ever feel that PP though. Yowza. Period ended with a 21-10 shot advantage to the Gators, 36-24 combined for the 2 periods, and a 3-0 lead.
Third period fired up and poof, just like that, Lowrey shutout bid vanished. Meh, its just a goal. Still up by 2. Nothing to worry about right? RIGHT?! Answer: Wrong. We kind forgot how two-way play works and went pure kill mode. 2 PP's and 25 shots later we got snubbed. Pile onto that there was a shorty by the Trojans #47, and a deflating, possible offside with 5 min left that lead to the game tying goal.
Off to the shootout we go.... and... we lost
#GawdDamnIt
Lowrey stopped 36 in the loss
Kais, who loves the hockeys, and played a hell of a game, goes home with #GatorOfTheGame nods
Spencer of course went -2
Culbertson was rocking his Gator merch and looking sexual
Next game: Saturday Oct 9. Stay home, its a gross 11pm start
