The thursday Oct 14 version of Gator Hockey saw the green and gold face off against the DLA Kings

I'll see what I can recall on account of one of those high hard ones connected early second period and the rest is a blur

A last minute "Oops, I fell asleep" call from Ressler went out just as a fellow napper KT woke up to book it over to the ice.  This all went on as we scrambled to grab a Buds hockey player or two to get us to at least 2 lines.

Fun times, being a manager... fun times

Anywhooo

First period started with the Gators slinging out 3 straight bingos via Hanna, Taylor and Goebel.  Good start.  That kinda rubbed DLA the wrong way and they went goalie head hunting at that point.  It is apparently the best way to get a goalie off his/her game.  Yup.  They tallied their first shortly after than gameplan change.  PerrBear got that one back to make it 4-1.  Before the end of the period DLA narrowed the gap back to 2 and the period ended.  Shots were 14-9 Gators on a 4-2 lead

Second started and DLA tallied early to bring the Gator lead to 1.  Player of the month Cunningham clawed that one back via apples from Noah and Dunville.  Then the cage really got rattled, and this is where I dont remember much other than a high pitched whine and not wanting to turn fast in any direction.  Concussions are zero fun, and I really should have just called it a night.  However I'm an idiot and thought it would just shake out.  It didnt.  DLA slipped another 2 in before the end of the period.  Cunningham scored his second of the game and the period ended 6-5 in favour of the Gators.  

A quick pitstop at the bench and the ref gave our bench a warning that he was monitoring my movements and it would probably be best to sit and play six players.  Refer back to I'm an idiot.  I stayed in net, DLA scored 3 more and the game ended as they popped an empty netter to make in 9-7

Sorry this one wasnt funny cause spending a couple days in a haze because some assclowns think firing pucks at goalies heads is a solid gameplan isnt cool.  It worked though, so bravo DLA, bravo
