A lot of people, lets call them  "normal" people, would see 11:30pm as a time of day you would 'normally' be into a good winters sleep.  Maybe you might be nodding away on the couch binge watching the Dutton family on Heartland, or some classic Jean-Luc Picard Star Wars episodes.

Yeah, well you can stuff normal where the sun dont shine cause you have to generally be out of your mind to want to start a beerleague hockey game at 11:30 but yet here we are.

The Nov 30th edition of GatorHockey saw the devastatingly handsome boys in green and gold face the genuinely average looking persons of the DLA Kings team.

Dialing back to around 10am this morning there was a grand total of 6 rostered pychopaths that had locked their souls into commitment to skate.  Now to fill out the rest of the roster...  It was a real hodgepodge (hodgepodge defined as a confused mixture of different things) that hit the ice this night

Here's the recipe:

Take 6 rostered skaters and plug tendy (also the GM).

Add 6 liters of general panic about only having 1 line rolling into a game... and cola.  liter cola

Sprinkle some -2 spin-o-rama into a defensive pairing

Glaze with 2 Buds Hockey members (Buchko and Furrie)

Add one Barley King (Rotella)

Place a case of Old Milwaukee and a case of Pilsner in the middle of the dressing room 

Let marinate while zamboni does clockwise circuit 

Serve over ice.

If you feel especially selfish, Substitute defensive responsiblity for tons of shots.

How did this all work out you ask,

Well it didn't look to good after the first period and a bit as the DLA Kings got up to a 3-1 lead at that point. 

Then something seemed to catch and a shorthanded bingo by Rotella (his second bingo of the tilt) seemed to spark something that lead into a Cunningham tying tally a minute into the third. 

DLA King sniper Lelievre must have in his head thought "me score now” and proceeded to net two bingos in a minute and a half to get back their 2 goal lead.  

Then cue the Gator death roll via Levi "The Fury"* Furrie (* I have no idea if anyone has ever called him this, but if they havent, I'm trademarking it for the purpose of selling Levi's t-shirts, which I will also be attempting to trademark cause I'm an idiot). 

Anywhoooo, Levi starts it off with a pair of his own, to be followed by a goal from recently returning from the suspension list Hanna and look at that, our first lead of the game.  

Then DLA got one more goal because they hate others having joy and we had a tie game.  Lowrey swore, and off to a shootout we go after the clock timed out.

Rotella got first kick, did a bantam A leg kick, and deked the DLA goalie out of his own helmet

Millan for DLA fired low blocker side to keep the shootout going

Hutch did hutch things and buried his shot into the open cage.  Advantage Gators

Lelievre, already having 4 ginos for the Kings this eve lined up, and figured he hadnt sniped bottom chedder and went for the same spot as Millan.  No dice.  Gators win in a shootout

Rotella wins GatorOfTheGame

Lowrey stops 44 for the Win

Spencer shockingly goes -2 on his triumphant return to the green and gold
