We are officially past the half-way point of the National Hockey League (NHL) season, and now that we’re through the All-Star break, the push for the playoffs is on!

Coincidentally, the race for first place in iPlayHockey’s Hockey Pool is in full force!

“Nashoba” continues to be the leader of the pack at 981 total points, but the gap is closing!

“Anselm” is now just four points back of first place, and seemingly gaining ground with each and every day. This team has the highest points/game at 0.86, impressively holding down second place with less games played.

“carl4040”, “Rusty Tacks”, and “Fred” round out the top five, and it’s anyone’s game at this point, with only 17 points separating first place and fifth place.

Nikita Kucherov continues to be this season’s fantasy superstar, leading the league with 64 points in 50 games, but it’s Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon that is turning heads – he’s been on an absolute tear since Matt Duchene was traded to the Ottawa Senators, and is now only three points back of the league lead.

Jakub Voracek, Josh Bailey, and Mat Barzal are proving to be some under-the-radar steals giving teams that extra boost, but other than that it’s familar faces at the top of the NHL’s points leaderboard.

It’ll be an interesting finish coming down the stretch with some great prizes on the line. Stay tuned!
