With COVID-19 very much an ongoing factor across the country, it’s important to plan your practices accordingly if your team, league, camp or clinic has made their return to the ice.
That means that the social distancing and corresponding rules and guidelines don’t end once you step onto the ice, and practices should reflect that.
Drills that have your players battling it out in the corners, up close and personal, should probably be avoided for the time being.
Drills that favour skating in open ice and keeping the players separated should probably be the focus for now.
Refer to iPlayHockey’s drill vault for some ideas for your practices, or to The Coaches Site for even more options, at a price.
The safer we are, the more successful a nationwide return is going to be. Don’t let your safety stop when you step foot on the ice. Let’s do this the right way!
