The National Hockey League (NHL) regular season has come to a close and with that, the iPlayHockey Hockey Pool champions are set to be crowned.
Congratulations to our first place winner and the recipient of a $500 gift certificate to Sport Chek - "carl4040"!
Carl's team was led by the NHL's top scorers Connor McDavid, Claude Giroux, Evgeni Malkin, and Nikita Kucherov, but saw nice seasons from all 21 players on his roster. He ended up taking the top spot with 1,633 points, 7 more than second place!
Second place this year actually came town to a tiebreaker!
With "Nashoba" and "Anselm" both finishing the season with 1,626 points, we had to resort to the goals for category to determine the prizing.
"Anselm" finished the year with 509 goals, while "Nashoba" finished with 493. As per the rules dictating this being the first tiebreaker, "Anselm" is the lucky recipient of a $300 gift certificate for the NHL's online shop!
"Nashoba" takes home a swag bag of iPlayHockey merchandise.
