Hello, I’m reaching out to inquire about insurance coverage for a homeschool hockey group we are organizing this winter. We are a parent-run group of homeschooling families who will be renting approximately two hours of ice time per week from November through March. The purpose is to give our children an opportunity to develop their hockey skills in a recreational and instructional environment. Our setup does not neatly fit into the usual categories of team, league, or camp. We are not operating as a formal league or competitive team. Instead, this is a mixed-age homeschool group with parents organizing and coaching the ice sessions. Players would generally be grouped into lines according to age and ability during the ice time. We are looking for guidance on what type of insurance coverage would be appropriate for this kind of arrangement and whether this is something your organization can insure. If helpful, I’d be happy to provide additional details regarding estimated participant numbers, ages, location, supervision structure, or format of play. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Angela Marchuk
